Tubishvat 2026

Tu Bishvat Celebration 2025
Kos & Kaos gathered in Oslo for a warm and intimate Tu Bishvat evening celebrating nature, renewal, and community. Surrounded by fruits, wine, music, and candlelight, guests came together to mark the Jewish New Year of the Trees through conversation, poetry, and shared reflection.

The evening featured performances by Beate Myrvold from Freydl together with Ingrid Shank on cello, performing Yiddish songs inspired by nature, landscape, and the changing seasons. Through music and shared listening, the gathering explored how nature has been reflected in Jewish language, memory, and imagination across generations.

Guests were also invited to bring their own poems, texts, and reflections about nature, and many participants shared personal and literary pieces throughout the evening. The readings created a warm and thoughtful atmosphere where conversations moved naturally between themes of growth, memory, resilience, and hope.

Wine, fruits, nuts, and simple snacks were served in the spirit of Tu Bishvat’s traditional connection to the fruits of the land, adding to the intimate and communal feeling around the table.

As the evening unfolded, the gathering became more than a holiday celebration. It became a space for reflection, creativity, and togetherness, where music, stories, and conversation blended naturally late into the evening.

The atmosphere was relaxed, joyful, and deeply engaged, reflecting what Kos & Kaos strives to create: meaningful Jewish gatherings where culture, tradition, creativity, and human connection come together in an open and inspiring way.
