How Is Antisemitism Experienced in Norway Today – and How Do Authorities Respond?
In this important session, 44 participants gathered for an evening of dialogue and reflection with representatives from the Norwegian police’s diversity and hate crime units, as well as staff from Stopp Hatprat (Stop Hate Speech). Together, we explored personal experiences of antisemitism in contemporary Norway and how these are handled by both law enforcement and civil society.

The police shared how they work to identify and prevent antisemitic incidents, and explained their threat assessments and support mechanisms for victims and witnesses. Stopp Hatprat presented tools for empowering youth to stand up against discrimination.
Participants engaged in interactive exercises to better understand how bias and hate speech develop — and how we can counter it collectively. Many shared personal stories and asked honest, challenging questions. It was a powerful reminder of the need for trust, collaboration, and continued action.
