A Night with Irving Berlin

On a sparkling Saturday evening, Kos & Kaos transformed Oslo into a 1920s jazz hall for A Night with Irving Berlin – a celebration of creativity, resilience, and joy. The venue was completely packed, buzzing with anticipation and laughter, as people gathered to honor Berlin, the Russian-Jewish immigrant who became one of America’s most iconic composers, shaping the soundtrack of a century with timeless songs like White Christmas and Puttin’ on the Ritz.

The band, newly expanded and humorously renamed Bech’s Guttene og Busken, filled the room with a rich mix of klezmer-inspired melodies and “Jewishized” Christmas tunes – playful, soulful, and irresistibly danceable. Guests joined in, and before long the dance floor was alive well into the night.

With inventive cocktails, great food, and a lively mix of familiar and new faces, the evening captured the essence of Kos & Kaos – blending heritage and humor, intellect and improvisation, into a night that celebrated both Jewish creativity and the joy of shared culture.
